Explode Talent Workshop

It was absolute fun all through on Friday, 7th of December, 2012 at Explode Talent Workshop. The programme which held at the Unilag Main Auditorium was organised by Peculiar Media Ltd., the publishers of Peculiar Magazine. The Talent Workshop witnessed an overwhelming crowd as the 2,000 capacity hall was completely filled up while hundreds of people who came late had to stay outside the hall. The first edition of the annual talent workshop was held last year at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

There were two main features of the talent workshop. One part is the interactive mentoring session facilitated by successful artistes like Fred Amata, a renowned actor and prolific movie producer, Tolu Fame, a music star who emerged from Project Fame, comedian Ali Baba’s representative, MC Prince and a host of other stars. The stars patiently fielded several questions from the participants and provided inspiring guidance to the participants.

The other part is the Talent Hunt for outstanding performance in music, dance and comedy. At the end of the stiff competition, Samuel Tom, David Mathew and Bright Toto emerged as the best in music, dance and comedy respectively. Each of them was presented with a cheque of one hundred thousand naira as the wining prize for each category.

According to the co-ordinator of the talent workshop, Mr. Ayo Asaolu, the main thrust behind the programme is the need to help young and talented Nigerian’s find their way to success through practical mentoring and opportunity to display their God-given talents. At the end of the workshop so many of the participants confirmed to us that their passions have been ignited and they are ready to explode with their talents.
