Militant group Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the killing of a former Nigerian Deputy Inspector General of police, Abubakar Saleh Ningi, in Kano.
Yesterday God gave us victory and we succeeded in killing a former DIG in Kano city. By God’s grace very soon top government officials will have no peace as we will intensify attacks on them wherever they are.” The sect said in an email statement to reporters yesterday.
DIG Ningi was shot dead along Sauna Kawagi road in Kano on Tuesday night June 5th, alongside two police aides attached to him.
