Overdose, Iyanya, Praiz For Sprite Triple Slam 2011

Unlike many unstable brands in its category, Sprite Triple Slam (STS) comes again with a juicier fourth season. According to the organizers at a press conference held at Connonades Hotel, Ikoyi on Monday June 6, 2011, the event is targeted at the youth on campuses across Nigeria and designed to stimulate out-of-the-box thinking plus self-expression as well as to spark up creativity and unleash the ingenuity embedded in the average Nigerian youth.

OD, IYANYA,

Stating that the reason why basketball was chosen over games for the STS is the common spirit in both the game and the brand, ‘Sprite,’ Flavors’ Strategic Marketing Manager, Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi also said, ‘Sprite stands for the altitude, edginess and swagger of the urbane youth and initiated the Sprite Triple Slam to further strengthen its connection with consumers. It is hinged on the three passion points of today’s youth; dance, music and basketball’.

Contestants will compete as individuals in the three categories of basketball, dance and music and will be rewarded in individual capacity unlike in previous editions of the Sprite Triple Slam where registration, performance and rewards were team based. The cash prizes of N1 Million for each contestant remains unchanged.

Rapper Overdose and singers Iyanya, Praiz and DIL have also been chosen to headline the tour which will majorly cover four states – Abuja, Calabar, Enugu and finally Lagos. And not making changes to last year, the trio of eLDee da Don, Bolaji and Michael will remain judges of the show which will be hosted by Kelvin Pam

Regional activations will begin with Enugu activation on July 1, Calabar activation will be on July 8 while Abuja and Lagos activations will hold on July 15 and 22, respectively while the grand finale where the winners for each category would be chosen is scheduled for Lagos on Monday August 8, 2011.
